Description
In 1932 while visiting Leslie White's summer field school, Volney Jones, with the help of Don Talayesva, began collecting plant specimens at Third Mesa for the University of Michigan Ethnobotanical Laboratory.

Orayvi, Paaqavi, Hotevilla, and Kiqötsmovi are located in the western part of the Hopi Reservation, while Mùnqapi is located near Tuba City about forty-five miles away.
