Navajo

Description

During the 1935 Hopi Crop Survey, Whiting, Jones, and Nequatewa interviewed three Navajo families from the Red Lake Trading Post area, currently called Tonalea or Tó Nehelį́į́h (Navajo) and located near the northwestern edge of the Hopi reservation. Jones and Whiting were particularly interested in the seeds that Navajo households had acquired from Hopi farmers. Navajo farmers were growing a variety of different melons and corn.
